We are proud to welcome Nicole Schulenburg to the Common Ground team as our spring/summer intern. With two months under her belt, Nicole has taken the PR world by storm, creating social media content, pitching media, coordinating interviews and brainstorming new ideas. We can’t wait to see all she accomplishes with us this summer!
A go-getter, Nicole graduated one semester early from Murray State University in Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and a minor in marketing. She graduated in December 2017 and started with Common Ground shortly after on March 5, 2018.
Prior to Common Ground, Nicole sought out many ways to boost her resume and get involved in the communications industry. One summer, she served as a marketing intern at Make-A-Wish Missouri, where she contributed to social media calendars, conducted research, and rewrote a marketing plan, all while planning a celebratory event for the 6,000th Wish Party. Additionally, Nicole worked in advertising production and layout for the Murray State News, using her creativity to design ads for the print and online publication. If that wasn’t enough, she was also a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and the Kappa Delta Sorority, among other university organizations.
Since joining Common Ground, Nicole has gotten her feet wet with clients and projects in various industries. She is producing deliverables, participating in client meetings and learning how to work with the media.
“My favorite thing is that I am constantly learning new things,” Nicole said. “I appreciate how everyone takes the time to explain things to me and always answer my questions.”
Outside of the office, Nicole enjoys the outdoors – taking her dog to the park or spending time at the lake with her family. She is interested in anything that allows her to be creative, such as event planning and creating social media content. As a fun fact, Nicole claims that she loves karaoke, and will sing anytime … anywhere. CGPR karaoke night, anyone?!
Welcome, Nicole – we are so happy you are here!
